For over 13 years, I’ve worked in the monument industry. I’ve seen firsthand how difficult the loss of a loved one can be—the grief, the loneliness, and the quiet moments that follow. Throughout my career, my goal has always been to help ease that heartache in some small way by creating something meaningful to remember those who have passed.

One thing I’ve always noticed is how dark cemeteries can be at night. There is very little lighting, which can make visiting feel isolating. A few years ago, after my mother-in-law passed away, my family began a tradition of visiting her on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day in the evening. Each year, the darkness made those visits more difficult.

Like many people, we tried inexpensive solar lights. While they helped us find her headstone more easily and brought a sense of peace, I couldn’t find anything that truly felt special or lasting.

That’s when inspiration struck. I began seeing lithophanes being created with 3D printers, and I instantly knew what I wanted to design for the memorial industry—a way to illuminate a personal photo so families could visit their loved ones both day and night.

We spent countless hours developing our design, sourcing reliable solar components, testing different plastics, and ensuring durability in outdoor conditions. The result is a premium, customizable memorial lantern created specifically for the monument space—one that honors loved ones beautifully and stands the test of time.
